About Us

Pet Cremation Services of East Tennessee was opened in 2009 to provide a much needed service to the East Tennessee area. It is family owned and operated by Rick and Shea Long. The Long’s have a daughter Logan, and a niece Emma, who are both involved in the business. Their black lab Farris works super hard daily bring smiles and tail wags while greeting visitors. Occasionally, you will see their spunky grand pup Rue running the property as well!

Rick began his work in the funeral industry as a licensed funeral director and embalmer. In 1986, he left the daily funeral home work to begin Long’s Grave Digging, eventually becoming Long’s Cemetery Maintenance, which services cemeteries and funeral homes throughout Tennessee. He maintains both his funeral director and embalmer licenses with the State of Tennessee.

Shea became a part of the company in 2004. She is a licensed funeral director with the State of Tennessee and has many years of experience in the funeral industry.

The Longs are both fully involved in the daily activities of the business and strive to offer the best care and service in the industry.

We provide a great variety of merchandise to help you honor and remember your departed pet. Many products we provide are customizable. You can browse these and other merchandise in our showroom or online. We are happy to answer any questions you may have about our products or services.

Viewing Suite

For those who wish to be with their pet during their time at our facility, we offer a family viewing suite. With its comfortable and spacious environment, our viewing facility provides you a place for a meaningful goodbye. From here, you may watch the entire process ensuring your pet's cremation is private and dignified.

We are available 7 days a week. Our office is staffed Monday thru Friday from 8:30am until 4:30pm, Saturday 8:30am to 3:00pm and Sunday 9:00am to 2:00pm.

You can call our office and leave a message on our company voicemail. Your call will be returned as promptly as possible.
Cremation times vary based on the weight of your pet. Typically, the time period for an average cremation is 2 to 3 hours.
Yes, many families decide to stay and witness the entire cremation process. You and your family are welcome to use our family viewing area which has a window that looks directly into the cremation area. There is an additional charge to use the viewing suite. *Please note, viewings are available by scheduled appointment only.
We partner with many veterinarian clinics in our local area. Those clinics typically call us on your behalf to arrange for your pet’s cremation. If your preferred vet clinic does not use our services on a regular basis, we are still able to pick up at that clinic. Please notify your vet office that you are using our facility then call our office for pricing and assistance with the arrangements. We also offer pickup at your home. Please contact our office for home pickup pricing and details.
We offer services for all large dog breeds, but other large animals are case dependent. Please call our office to discuss options.
What types of pets can be cremated at your facility? A. No pet is too small to be cremated at our facility, however, for any pet over 300 lbs, please call our office to discuss your specific needs. *Please note, we do not offer equine services.
